Rebuild my church In imitation of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with his servant, Francis, "we pray for the grace to serve God, free from fear, to transform the Church and to conform it to that Body, Christ's own, to which it belongs."

Day 2
Admonition 1b
Of the Lord's Body
For neither is the Son, inasmuch as He
is equal to the Father, seen by any one other
than by the Father, other than by the
Holy Ghost. Wherefore, all those who saw the
Lord Jesus Christ according to
humanity and did not see and believe according
to the
Spirit and the Divinity, that He was
the Son of God, were condemned. In like manner,
all those who behold the Sacrament of
the Body of Christ which is sanctified by the
word of the Lord upon the altar by the
hands of the priest in the form of bread and
wine, and who do not see and believe
according to the Spirit and Divinity that It is
really the most holy Body and Blood of
our Lord Jesus Christ, are condemned, He the
Most High having declared it when He
said, “This is My Body, and the Blood of the
New Testament,”6
and “he that eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood hath
everlasting life.”1

There is a coin and its two
sides are this; on its Head is “The Sacrament, of the body
of Christ in the form of bread and wine” On its Tail is “Calvary,”
Francis intention in this
part of the admonition is to show us that both
sides of the coin are the same coin –naturally
and that we cannot have one without the other –
if we do not believe the head there is no tail
and no coin and visa versa
I believe Francis’
intention here is to represent the fact, the
Eucharist is not a repetition of Calvary, but
Calvary itself!, the greatest miracle of God,
the miracle of time and space... every Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass is not a repetition of the
one at Calvary, but exactly the same Sacrifice
of Calvary-,
27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself (Heb.7:27 NIV) |
